Is your staff active on your site? This would include visiting the site, posting replies to threads, starting new threads or performing staff duties.

1) Do you think to have an active community, the staff needs to be active and friendly and engaging all the time?
2) Do you think staff welcoming new members makes a difference?
3) How active do you feel a staff member should be on a forum?
4) Do you have one staff member that is more active that the rest of the staff, and does most of the replying and staff duties? If so, how does the other staff feel about that?
5) Do you reward your staff members based in activity, or are they all treated the same?
6) On a scale from 1 to 10, what would you rate your staff activity at?

I don't want to say way too much just in case I upset people 😛 But never-the-less I only have one staff member who hasn't logged into the site for over a year now 🙁 And been with me since the very start when the site opened. Very clueless on what I should do or how to resolve this, just worry about upsetting people and then get the backend of the stick and then poop myself.

Can be hard to make the right choice at times, as an owner you think that you own and run everything, but at the end of the day, you don't. You always have people controlling and telling you to want to do from people below you. I mean owner pays for keeping the site going and that's all 😛 As a owner you want the best for the members and members tell you what they want and love, even that you dislike it.

  1. Yes, staff needs to be active, inactive staff will have inactive members 🙂
  2. Yes, makes members feel more at home and see that staff trying to be helpful or just being nice or whatever and respect is what you want to have or get.
  3. As long as they log in to the site once a day, even if they only have logged in for10mins.
  4. My point of view, have two. One person, I respect him very much and he has real-life and runs his own site's also and so hard for him to be active, I respect that. Me, I try to me on as much as I can, then again every owner should be doing more than your own staff members.
  5. I like to, but have not setup anything really, other than mods power 😛 But I tend to post way too much on one of my staff website that he runs himself 😛
  6. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, three staff, I say I rate myself 3

I'm the only Staff on my forum & I'm on daily.

1) Do you think to have an active community, the staff needs to be active and friendly and engaging all the time?
Yes I do. Staff needs to be an example.
2) Do you think staff welcoming new members makes a difference?
I'm not sure but I hope so. I welcome new people on mine as well as on other forums I'm on. It helps them to feel that they are not just another number.
3) How active do you feel a staff member should be on a forum?
If I did have Staff, I would prefer them to be on often, doesn't have to be daily, but a few times a week.
4) Do you have one staff member that is more active that the rest of the staff, and does most of the replying and staff duties? If so, how does the other staff feel about that?
Being the only Staff, I don't have this problem yet. I wouldn't have a problem with one being more active as long as the others are doing their jobs. Real life will always come first.
5) Do you reward your staff members based in activity, or are they all treated the same?
They wouldn't be rewarded. If I had Staff, I would treat them equally but have different things they could do.
6) On a scale from 1 to 10, what would you rate your staff activity at?
10 'cos it's only me 🙂

I'll respond to the questions below for Christianity Haven only because Crafter Craze doesn't have any staff at this time.

1) Do you think to have an active community, the staff needs to be active and friendly and engaging all the time? Absolutely! Staff can easily scare off newbies so they need to be welcoming to anyone who posts on the site and if they have issues with other members, they need to learn to control their hostility.
2) Do you think staff welcoming new members makes a difference? I think that everyone wants to feel welcomed when they first join a site. I expect all staff members to respond to intro threads.
3) How active do you feel a staff member should be on a forum? Staff should log in daily and try to make a post or two. That doesn't always happen on CH because of work commitments or health issues.
4) Do you have one staff member that is more active that the rest of the staff, and does most of the replying and staff duties? If so, how does the other staff feel about that? Besides myself, there is another staff member who posts a lot but I still most of the staff duties. The other staff are happy that others step up.
5) Do you reward your staff members based in activity, or are they all treated the same? There are no rewards. We only have moderators and do not promote higher than that. That means there are no expectations of promotion so they're all treated the same.
6) On a scale from 1 to 10, what would you rate your staff activity at? 6 as a whole

1) Do you think to have an active community, the staff needs to be active and friendly and engaging all the time? Yes, definitely
2) Do you think staff welcoming new members makes a difference? Yes, absolutely
3) How active do you feel a staff member should be on a forum? It depends on the tasks you need them for(for me it us determined at the time of their promotion to staff)
4) Do you have one staff member that is more active that the rest of the staff, and does most of the replying and staff duties? If so, how does the other staff feel about that? Im the only staff member.
5) Do you reward your staff members based in activity, or are they all treated the same? I treat everyone equally.
6) On a scale from 1 to 10, what would you rate your staff activity at? Since it's just me, a 10😁

I have just one staff monitoring the posts and users. There are not many active users and not many posts are created. Therefore, we two can easily handle the forum.
