How does alexa ranking work? I found that when I get some traffic it decrease alexa ranking but it stops getting visitor it increases again.

With Alexa, the higher the number means less traffic. The lower the number means more traffic. If you can get your site below 500,000 Alexa ranking, then you're doing good.

Alexa is basically for the use of visitors, but if you have a regular update of your blog with relevant contents you can decrease your blog alexa gradually.

Alexa Ranking is not 100% accurate, but it can give you some valuable information.

Basically, the more people who use the Alexa Toolbar that visit your site, the better your rank will be (aka the lower the number).

It's supposedly to be a way to judge traffic, but it's a rather crap one given how Alexa's toolbar is often seen as spyware and how very few people even use it (especially when it comes to non webmasters).

Very good point, indeed.
