I am opening a debates forum soon called "Debate Wire" but while that is being purchased, I decided to write up some rules ready for the forum. However, I would like your thoughts on them and what have I missed out or could be improved? Thanks.

No Bumping Debates
If a debate hasn't had a post for at least 30 days then you are not allowed to bump it. Doing so will get your post removed and an infraction added to your account.

No Insulting Members
You are not allowed to insult other members for any reason. If they insult you then report them but don't insult them back as you will get in trouble as well. So, don't do it otherwise you are risking a forum 24 hour ban.

No Adult Content
You are not allowed to create any adult content on the forum. We don't have an age limit and therefore, you need to keep all the content child-friendly. This includes porn, sexual behavior and swearing. Otherwise, you will get a warning and your content removed.

No Advertising
We do not allow you to advertise any website on DebateWire whether that is on your Signature, Avatar, User Title or Username. Otherwise, it will be deleted and you may be banned.

No Spamming
We don't allow you to spam on this forum. This includes off-topic content, low quality content, double posting, bumping with no reason and anything else we may consider as spam. Breaking this rule will get yourself a ban with your content removed. If you accidentally double post then edit your post explaining that and report it to save yourself the consequence.

OK, so does this apply to minor rules that have been broken?

Hmm.. Arguments...Debating... I don't think Arguments being banned should be a rule. But that's just my opinion.

I think I will edit this then but I meant like pointless arguments because someone dislikes smoking and stuff.

I think you should be a little more lenient on the spam rule. Maybe a warning first. Your forum could be someone's first forum, you know.

- Respect Mods/Admins
They work hard trying to provide the community with high quality content suitable for young audiences and all we would like in return is some respect. If you are caught breaking this rule then it will result in a 7 day ban.
Why just staff members? Are they above the rest? It should say respect EVERYONE.

These rules have been changed and can be found on DebateWire at the moment. (www.debatewire.net) and for the spam; I am keeping it like that so I can manage the forum easier instead of having people spamming every 5 minutes when a warning doesn't matter to them.

The respect mods has been removed and no arguments has been changed to No Insulting Members. A few more changes have been made as well.

Unless your on off-shore hosting you had better include something about adult content.
