Engagement is the discussion within a topic.

With forums, it's important to encourage more engagement so that your content does better in search. It also shows visitors that your community is active.

How do you encourage engagement on the threads created on your forum? Aside from just creating high quality content, what more do you do to keep members talking?

Replying to threads, and asking members questions related to the thread is a good way to increase member engagement on topics. I also like to tag members.

For me it would be to quote other members posts, creating fun events and contests as well as giving members incentives to post such as items in a shop, services etc.

Had always been on the thought of contests and giveaways would only bring empty members who would just be there for the giveaway. As soon as its over, they'll be gone as well.
