How can I get more members ?

I've had a gaming forum going for around 3-4 months now.

It started off pretty badly as I was an amateur. So I asked around for advice, etc, etc.

Thankfully, loads of people came up with a load of suggestions, and I was able to improve my forum.

Anyway, I now have nearly 50 members, all of which are delighted with the forum and think it's amazing.

I am very grateful for the loyal 50 members I do have, but after 3-4 months I need more. I've advertised everywhere, including here on FP, but am afraid that I have not had much success at all.

I really don't want to give up and close down the site, but it's really starting to get to the stage where I'm starting to think...."is this ever going to work?".

Please can someone help me....maybe there's a small little trick I don't know.

Trust me, if you have 50 "grateful" members, who are all active, you should be more than happy to serve those 50 members. Even if out of those 50, only 10 are active - make them happy. Stop trying so hard looking for new members, it's not going to happen overnight. First create a fun community with real discussions, none of that "whats your fav blah blah".

- Amazing Theme
- Way too many forums - merge or remove few.
- Perhaps get a custom logo...that has your forum's name?

I'm working on the logo...have been for a week now. I have a designer you see who's on holiday but will be back in a few days.

Thanks for the review though, but out of those 50 members, less than 10 are active.

That's the problem I'm having.

All of them were really happy when they first joined, but they stay for a week, and then they never come back. 🙁
