I have found a forum like this for a while. I like this idea. But I think you have to wait for other guy, I do not know how to help you.

I found a Forbes article on marketing a website like yours

The thing about Forbes is that when they write articles about this type of thing, they usually omit the part about social media marketing that requires you to have at least a moderate following before any of their ideas would work.

You can get a following on Social Media in different ways, depending on the website:

• Twitter:
  Gain a following by #tagging anything that's trending and posting about it, or replying to a lot of posts that are trending a topic.
  
• Facebook:
  Join Groups, post funny pictures, and add #tags to the posts.
  
• Google+:
  Join Communities, and post funny pictures.

If you do it right, you'll have a decent following in about a month. After that, just share your posts in a relevant group or community, and you'll have a following for your website.

you should participate in forums, blogs and topics to study and draw lessons for themselves than

I'd recommend contacting other sports forums and see if they'll affiliate with you. You can also use twitter, tumblr, or facebook to promote. Advertising via your signature is also another way to promote your forum.

Article marketing is also a good way to get traffic, and it is free (if you don't count your time).

You can promote your forum on local sports sites or you can also start referral reward program if you want to. Just go & try, there are so many options, you only need courage to pass success line.
