How Do I Get Bots To Come To My Forum

I always see Google and Yahoo Bots on other Forums, is this a good thing and how do I get them to come to my forum?

So, judging the content of my site how long would it take?

Your site should have been crawled already, it's hard to judge how long it will take, an easy thing to do is go onto your Google account and use Webmaster Tools, this will aid you and provide realtime stats etc. I have never tried this on a free hosted forum so therefore I don't know if it would work or not. The better "SEO'd" your forum is, the better chance on being crawled regularly. There is some good information on this forum on how to improve your forum through SEO and optimizing it. the Forum Promotion blog will contain some great content to help you etc.

On FreeForums you have to allow Bots to come by activating the permissions in the Admin Control Panel.
But it's different for every different forum provider. But they come automatically for me.

He means bots that crawl your site to appear in search engines not the dreaded spam bots -😉-
