Hey guys,

I'm stuck with the same problem as a lot of other people. I simply cannot get my website known.

I've submitted it to search engines. I even paid for a premium service provided by Submission Hub. I've chosen my keywords and my meta descriptions very carefully and all are relevant to the content on my site. I've set up robot meta tags which allow robots to keep the search engines updated. I've set them to INDEX and FOLLOW.

I've also set up a Google Webmaster Tools account and I've added a sitemap.

I've also submitted my site to directories, I've set up backlinks and trackbacks. I've even set up affiliates with PR1 sites such as Kidzworld. On top of all that, I've also told people by word of mouth, set up a Twitter and a Facebook page. I've even gone as far as promoting my website on Digg and Stumbler. I've joined other websites that are within the same target audience as mine. I've set up signature ads on the sites that allow me to do that. I've even joined online communities such as PlayFire, xFire and more.

I've consulted all the major advice sites such as DigitalPoint, Ezine, eHow, WebmasterForums, and more. They've all given me detailed step-by-step guides on how to promote my website. I've followed their instructions carefully and done exactly what they told me to do. And I'm still exactly where I was before. Without a Google PageRank and therefore with hardly any visitors to my website.

I am now absolutely stuck for ideas. I don't know where else to go, or how else to advertise without spending lots of money for paid advertising. I'm not an online business, I'm an online games website. A free online games website. I don't want to spam forums or websites as that will get me negative feedback not positive. So I'm seeking advice.

Please check out my site and tell me what on earth I'm doing wrong. SEO is not my strong point! 🙁

Might I suggest using a survey to help collect information from your existing traffic to help you see what your users like best from your site and get suggestions on how to improve your site.

You can set up a free survey for your site @ http://surveymoney.com

Make sure to make the survey no more than 5 or 6 questions so that you will be more certain that people will complete the survey.

I hope that this tip helps and best of luck with your site.

Okay. Except I don't really have any users at the moment. Thanks for the advice though.
One thing that I have realised is that my domain is really not relevant to the content.
So I've bought a new domain and I've transferred the site across to it. The site is now called RoundGames247.com!

Don't ask me why I called the site that coz I don't even know myself. 😛 After looking around for about an hour for any good available domains, and having no luck at all, I finally found an amazing online site called RoundGames.com. Now I realised that there was another good site called FlashGames247.com. So I thought for a while and then an idea struck me! What if I combine RoundGames.com with FlashGames247.com to create RoundGames247.com?! 😉 What's more when I checked to see if it was available, it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

So I bought it. 😀

I've still kept the old domain as a re-direct to the new one so any existing users won't lose out. 🙂

P.S. I literally only just bought this domain so the DNS servers may not yet be propogated. 😉

One hard thing I found when I first looked at the site when you made the first post, is that there wasn't really any content for the search engines to index to help you get ranked among them. I understand you are a gaming site, so being able to have some content to rank with might be difficult.

The only thing I can think of doing right now is find as many promotion forums as you can and make sure you keep active in as many as possible, while still keeping your site maintained.

Here's FP's post on a current list of active promotion forums:

Have you thought about writing articles with your link embedded in them related to your website on Squidoo, hubpages, ezinarticles, and other article websites?

You can also start a blog related to your website, and post content about your category, and website on a blog, and submit your blog to all the major blog directories like technorati.

YouTube can also be a good source for traffic if you make a lot of quality video. You can also leave a link in the description for your videos and your channel page.

Wanted to pop in and comment on how you still don't have page rank. Google only updates their page ranks every so often. Last one I read was in April, so take that into consideration when looking at PR. Good luck!
