How do I increase my PR?

Hey there, I'm in need of a guide and maybe some tips on how to increase my PR? I have a new domain so it's of course at 0 and you like to raise it a bit. Any advice and help for this?

You can post your links on some high PR promotional forums and in your sig on other forums.

Write great articles on your forums which people will link to on their forums.

Start a blog, so people will link to your blog if you write articles which people want to qoute or link to. I got a few people link to my articles on their blogs.

Ask your friends who own websites, forums, blogs, and other sites to link to your website in a blog post or your sidebar.

You should first figure out what you want to rank for - Why do you want to increase PR? Do you want to attract traffic or just boast about your PR rank?

I would write out a plan of action for your domain and what you're going to use it for. A forum or website? CMS or static? What will you do with the rankings you could gain? Who are your main competitors?

SeoMOZ.org has some fantastic resources. Remember, PR means little, it's your traffic, rankings and ROI that's important 😉

Pagerank is becoming less and less important as time passes. It provides very little SEO, but still, anything is better than nothing.

Dan, I'd echo what has been suggested by fokerss and Renegader. Your main concern should be on providing a useful site for your members and making your forum as helpful to them as possible. Spending your time focusing on that will be much more helpful to your community than spending it trying to improve your PageRank.

Why worry about increasing your PR?
Just work on building links that way you can rank higher for various keywords. PR isn't all that important unless you're selling links. :sleep:
