When hiring a writer to make posts on your blog or site, it's important to know whether or not they are writing original material or simply spinning articles from another site.

Here are some ways to tell if your site content is spun.

Does the content make sense? If the article is gibberish, it's likely spun by a software.

Take a short excerpt from the article and run through Google search with quotation marks. This will tell you if that part of the article was copied from another site.

Another way to tell if the article is copied or spun is to use, copyscape.com

I think, any tool won't help if you if the content is gramatically correct.

You need to read the content and find if it is spun or written by a human...

Mainly, the synonyms you have to check, there would be some words which may be used in a way that is not normal, looks odd..

I had that problem with a few writers from Digital Point Forums a couple of years ago. That's why I started emphasizing that my writers should be Americans, British or any country from the developed world. You usually won't have such issues with Westerners because we have respect for intellectual property.

They are very common. Some are very smart enough to edit things well for not showing up in Google. So the best way is to go through the article thoroughly before you can figure out if it is a spun article.
