How do I remove firewall for certain ports?

I have spent 1 hour trying to do this. I am trying to set up a web disk. I have done an hours of research and I have found no helpful answers and no answers that I understand.

Please help me- How do I remove firewall for ports 2077 and 2078 (ssl?) Please explain this in very simple terms as I am new to these things.

For what OS? Windows is done through the Windows Security thing, for Linux builds you go to Administration -> Security & Firewall.

By the looks you are trying to use cPanels Web Disk. I have tried it and didn't like it.

@stipearl i am using windows xp. i have already gone to my firewall and added the ports under the exceptions list, and it still didn't work.

@pvcomputers yes, that is what i am trying to do. what is it for exactly?

You must also open the ports on your router/moden, if you haven't already.
