I've been trying to upload a picture for the logo, but every time i tried it wouldn't over write the file. If i give someone the theme pack + my desired logo (formatted properly - just different size than original - wider .. it will fit in the top navigation bar), can someone put it together for me through coding?
Also... how could i add advertisement codes to my forums. Where would i go in the pile of files?
How are you trying to upload/overwrite the file? What error are you getting?
To add ad codes, just paste the code in the template files. I don't know the structure of SMF but find where the template files are and depending on where you want the ads to show, edit the relevant templates.
Thank you, i couldn't overwrite the files. For example... if i tried to delete logo.jpg... it would come back in it's place! Revived? -bigeyes- I'm not sure i was making sure no one had the same error.
hmm, are you using my cpanel hosting? wierd that you are getting that error. Just upload your file with them same name as the default logo, then press overwrite. What browser are you using? Also for prompt answers remember we have a support forum too which is checked a lot, so there is a bigger chance I'll see it -happy-
I'll check it out later, I'm using Firefox (the new one), and i did click overwrite, and check the overwrite box. I tried making the .rar file on my computer then uploading it to the site and extract it there, but it wouldn't extract. It would show the extracting bar... and load till the end of eternity. I used WinRar.
It may be down to the image being stuck in your cache (it is amazing how many problems can be solved by clearing the browser cache). Try holding ctrl & F5 when viewing your site and see if it still shows.
I had this problem before as well, it ended up being my host provider having some wierd cpanel permissions that wouldnt allow me to overwrite, or even upload files to certain directories
