How do you create phpBB bots?

How do you create phpBB bots, that update things for you? Like the FP Bot which posts new blog posts.

I'm pretty sure the post for the blog is done manually either by logging into the bot account or changing the post author to said bot.

There are a few mods on the phpbb mod site that allow you to add extra bots to your forum. But as for the custom bot I think they are just people logging in and creating posts like me and you.

Oftentimes, many forums elect to just create a dummy account, call it a bot, and make RSS imports off that bot. That's what I did.

It's pretty easy to register [bot]Site Bot account, then add it to the bot group. After that, add some basic profile info to it, and then change it to the author of whatever post you want 😉
