How do you feel about members posting the same thread on multiple forums?

I’m mixed on them. I guess I don’t mind them especially if the duplicates are old.

I think it’s plagiarism. You can plagiarize yourself. This is one of those ways.

depends on if it's fully copied and past or the same. If it's the same and the other topic is still active then I just merged them together 🙂 if both topics and one looks different and involved with another discussion then maybe I just do not merge it.

Also how old the last topic was, the idea to have fresh new content then bring up an old topic that the first poster is not around anymore.

In this case, I do not think it's plagiarism, the person who is posting the topic might not even be a way that there has been a topic on this matter and it's still his own words. look at FP, we have so many topics that are the same. IF you reached around.

I can't say I've never done it but mainly because I forget where I have posted a thread. I don't post one and then immediately put the same on a number of forums, I don't think it really bothers me if others do it. I will still answer if it's something I'm interested in. Sometimes you get a totally different audience so the replies are still original.

I've done it a few times, especially if it's something I personally want feedback on i.e. taking care of a forum. As @sprite1950 said, there's a different audience, so hence different perspectives.

I think if it's not on the front topic list in that section then I will leave it open for other members to respond. If on the same topic section, I might merge it but it all depends on the post details, some ask more questions in one than the other. Obviously, if the other thread quite old leave a new one in place. You get members that come and go so all have a chance to respond accordingly.
