I legit just had my logo I made for a client stolen by that client. They paid the deposit, and after I showed them the logo they said "Mate... you keep the $10, I'll just make my own"

The left is what I made them. The right is what they "made" they literally stole the logo, if you look closely enough you can still see the outline of my phoenix watermark :expressionless: What do y'all do in this situation? I've contacted Xenforo about it as the transaction was done on there, but I'm honestly unsure what else to do.

Do you have an email trail or some other written record? And is the client in question under the jurisdiction of your state or country?

I have it all via DMs on Xenforo, and they're sadly in Romania. So I doubt any actual legal action can be taken for it. I did make a public post though calling them out, and sending the same picture I sent above as well as a picture of their website with their url in it.

Update, I also found out where their site is being hosted which happens to be the same place they bought their domain name from so I'm sending in a copyright/DMCA Infringement request now.

I think you're handling it & have taken the necessary steps. There's only so much you can do on your own. I hope justice is served. They really did you dirty. There's no excuse for that.

Hate when that happens, Maybe next time to add more watermarks over the preview image and deeper colour watermarks. When I had work done and preview sent, watermarks were double laid and the image format was in WEBP. I check their site and they made a bad job with that logo, Your work would be so perfect fit if they did do what they did.

Contacting their host and giving them as much proof as you can is the best option. Hosting companies are typically quick to respond to these notices, as they can be held liable for damages if they don’t

That’s wrong, unfortunately there’s many of these people in this world.

I'm sorry this happened to you! This is so wrong! Even though it's in Romania, do check to see if there is some legal action you can take.
