This might be one of those "are we really talking about this?" topics but I'm genuinely curious by how people hold their phones. I've seen some pictures and actual people holding their phones that seem to suggest a way that's different than mine. Well, of course!

I hold my iPhone 5s with my ring and middle fingers along the side and the pinky touching the microphone area for support. It just feels like it's going to slip otherwise!

How about you folks with something like the iPhone 6 Plus or the Note 3? I'm sure phones around those sizes are popular too. I've seen some people that carries huge phones around their back pockets and it sticks out a good inch or more. Just begging a decent pick pocket to have a go at it.

I have a samsung galaxy s5 with a case on it. It's a fairly large phone so whenever im holding it I use two hands. Besides, texting/typing with one hand is slow and feels weird. The one exception to this is when I'm talking on the phone. Just one hand for that =). And I know what you are talking about, I see it all the time. Mostly its women i see who have the phone sticking out of their back pocket b/c they wear super tight/small jeans and pants. It looks pretty ridiculous lol.

I too have an iPhone 5s and I tend to hold it with my thumb on the right side wrapped around to use the touch screen, my three middle fingers on the left side, and my pinkie near the bottom. Similar to you, perhaps that's just the way it was meant to be.

..With all my fingers? I guess? I mean, I hold it how I'd normally hold everything else lol.

I generally tend to hold my S4 with an otterbox using my right hand, lightly holding the back with three fingers, my pinkie finger at the bottom, and my thumb on the screen.

So descriptive, Wit.

Yeah, I would have to say that's how I hold my phone, it's the most comfortable and still allows me to use all four corners of my phone.

I have an iphone4 I wrap my fingers around it and usually have my thumb resting on or beside the home button when I hold it

I have a Sony Xperia U, which I fully wrap my left fingers with, and I use my finger on my right hand (after the thumb), to use the touchscreen controls.

A year later, the focus of this topic does sound kind of dumb.

Completely forgotten about this topic. I always thought most people hold their phones the same way until a friend of mine tried to prove me otherwise since he doesn't support the bottom with his pinky. It's significantly harder to pull this off with a larger phone a la phablets, especially those that are known to be slippery thanks to curved glass edges — damn it, Jony Ive! It seems like most of you here reinforce my point, but it's still interesting to see some different responses. That was certainly narrow-minded of me.

I realized I've never thought about this before lol.

When I'm texting: I hold it with both pinkies at the bottom kind of supporting the phone. Other fingers are kind of intertwined on the back of the phone as I text.

One handed or phone calls, I hold it with one pinky at the bottom and then thumb along the left side and my other fingers just wrapped around the right. 😛

I hold my G Flex with my fingers wrapped around the sides. Itès easier because the sides are curved. I canèt get my whole hand around it though because the screen is 6+".

I try to take care of my phone as much as I can. I don't toss it around or put it on it's screen facing down. And I have rubber case to protect it.

I generally hold my sideways as much as possible. However, when I'm walking and attempting to text/Skype, I hold my Samsung with two fingers wrapped up under, thumb on the home button and type with my left hand.
