I didn't think I'd have to ask but how do I get mods instaled on themes that are non default. I tried installing 3 already but they will only install for the default theme.

I'm using SMF 1.1.3:

You have to customarily do it using FTP. They have install directions next to the package.

I haven't really read that but from what i can see isn't it like on phpBB3 like find a line of code and either add a bit of code before or after or replace it completely then upload the modified file back to your templates directory?

I don't know. I thought I did with one of the mods but it didn't work.

The mod that I want to get installed is the quick reply mod. (it's called enhanced quick reply)

I would usually ask the author of the theme... they might have already made or added a mod and have made the changes themselves.. they could usually guide you... and if they are nice enough they will do it for you.

Often, when authors release a Mod they'll write a "Readme" document with step by step instructions, informing you how to install the Modification, and which files to edit.

If you can't find a "Readme" document, search for an XML Format file named "Install" - Often you'll find that once opened it will load as a web-page, with step-by-step directions on how to install the Mod.

Of you still can't find anything to help you, send an E-Mail to the Autor of the Mod and ask for guidance.

If you're still unable to install the Mod, i'd be happy to help you install it. Just send me a PM ~cool~
