I heard somewhere that advertisers don't spend as much during the summer months. What do you do to help combat that so you can earn the most during the summer months?

Make lots of topics and replys related to summer trends, and products since there would be more Adsense ads related to summer products if your forum or blog has a lot of topics related to summer to your niche like summer movie releases, summer video game releases, best summer vacation destinations, or best air conditioning and fans to use in the summer.

Also, promote affiliate products from Amazon which people will use in the Summer like sun screen, laptops, swim goggles, swim suits, speedos, portable music players, portable video players, E-book readers, etc.

prepare to cash in on the winter months. I do a lot of writing of content for the autumn over the summer where not much is happening

Good idea, to write tons of post for autumn and the busy Christmas shopping season. The good thing about writing your autumn, and winter is Google and other search engines will index your posts, and you can use the time to build backlinks, so your posts rank higher in the search results.
