I'm just curious to learn how others have been effectively using Facebook for advertising. Is it enough to have people follow your page and just post a new message? If so, how often works? What content do you usually include? Do you make it a point to include a photo in your message?

One of the most important things to include on facebook at the moment is, videos.

I tend to share something everyday and it can be something off-topic. As long as your not advertising constantly then you can have a very active community.

I tend to post as much new RSS feed content that it's new and whatnot 🙂 and also not paid. works great other then getting people to look at the dam posts

I tend to join relative groups made for advertising and after getting approval post offers helped me a lot and sales where really increased as many group members also shares further.

That's only good until a certain point. If you look at how facebook posts on facebook you will find it's once a day maybe less. Twitter on facebook is the same. So I tend to stay away from posting loads as it floods people's timelines. I stop following pages that post too much. I think twice a day is enough.

I have always found those groups as bubbles of people all promoting for themselves and it never really works. How is it for you? I guess it's better

even still aren't the post interest you? I post allot of new content to twitter if there is anything to post about and don't get much other than high impression

well, if your constantly posting stuff. you will get a high impression as more people would be able to see it. I once posted a lot about GoT and got a reach of 2 - 3 million but I couldn't translate that into likes as people were coming for that specific thing and then leaving. I was always told to look at how Star Bucks advertise. they talk about tea and coffee, not their product and has gained them a huge following. Having original content only on facebook works. linking people to other pages tends to get boring. At the end of the day you can't really master social media, it just changes so much so fast.

Facebook has only been effective for me when I post articles on my personal site and then share them to friends. For the general public however, even when I pay for a post boost, there's really not too many hits on the target that I was hoping for. Reputation building on blogs and forums has really been the most effective for promotion. For me that is...

I have helped a few people with their pages. one of the things I haven't mentioned is collaborating, my friend, Jibrizy started his facebook page with 1000 likes now he has 260,000+ likes. I think keeping the posts consistent and having a schedule really helps. keep it on brand, most of my mistakes have come from re-posting other people's content and not focusing it all on mine. and I am not saying advertisements. I would say to advertise every few weeks, people who have liked your page know who you are. so they don't need to be told.

Currently I'm using Facebook to get traffic to my website (CPC Ad type) and get more engagements on the post (Post Engagement Ad type).

Trying to use Facebook for YouTube videos now also 🙂

Facebook is now accepting to promo video via Video Ads campaigns, you can create a campaign to promo your videos on Facebook fanpage to get more views and engagements. They charge per view.

There are some ways : Ask Fans to Show Their Love for Your Products,Demonstrate Creative Ways to Use Your Products,Incentivize Word-of-mouth Referrals,Build Trust With Ratings and Reviews, Target Prospects With Facebook Ads.
However the best ways is writing quality content the get it viral. And run effective ads campaigns, the target on right audiences in order to get potential leads.

i think it's up to your content, if you post contents which are useful to customer you can build a strong fanpage or social platform

I for one, post in dozen of Facebook groups per day. If you have a new account FB is going to ban your because of spam, but old accounts can post to nearly 100 groups per day without getting penalized. You just need to know how to cover your footprints, which is an art by itself 😉

Well, everyone knows social media marketing is the best way to promote any business and their services with millions of users. From there, any business man can get so many beneficial leads and referrals easily.

I use a method that isn't quite "respected" to grow my Facebook groups a bit since the more members in a group, the higher the search ranking. Also, I link 3-4 unique yet similar groups(Mostly groups regarding trending topics) to my page so when users join my group they also see my page. As though this isn't enough I advertise with permission in bigger groups.

I have several friends in Facebook who regularly promote their business by posting images of their products. There are times that their posts are trite due to the monotony. Some who are creative place cute captions. But there is a one poster of a video that mimics a celebrity who endorses the products that she sells. Imagine a video of Justine Beber lol. It's funny but quite effective.

How is this working for you? What kind of rates are you getting?

I am thinking of using Facebook Ads to advertise my new community once it's ready for launch, but I am not active on Facebook and I don't really know if it's the right fit for my site. Is it possible to get Facebook users to register on a competing community site, or is it just a waste of money?

There're 3 main types of Facebook ad I've used
CPC Ads (get visitors to your site)
Like Ads (get fans for your fanpage)
Engagement post (get likes, shares, comments on a post on your fanpage)

You need to make sure that what is your main purpose and then choose the right ad type for that.

Good luck to you,
