How does anesthesia affect you?

I had to have a procedure done for routine testing today and I know that anesthesia affects people differently. What about you?

As for me, I am the type who actually wakes up easily from it. One of the Residents from a surgery I had 6 years ago was amazed that I woke up before they even got me moved into the recovery room. I told him that if you're not ready to wake me up, then don't tell me to wake up LOL

I've not had an anesthesia since 2004 if I remembered correctly. It was when I was in a fight and had my head busted up which needed a surgery to fix the damage. It didn't take long for me to wake up and started feeling so much pain.

That must have been a brutal fight!! No permanent damage?

Yeah, it was a very crazy fight. I was lucky not to have any permanent damage. I was actually very lucky because I would have lost one left eye because the cut was above my right eye. If I had not block the chair I was hit with one of my hand, I will have only one eye today.

Glad you're okay. Did you know the guy?

Yeah, I knew him. It was in a neighbourhood brawl that it all went down. A lot of people got arrested the very day the fight broke out. Unfortunately, the cops never arrived sooner. It's always been that way with them. They usually come when almost everything is done.

I've had it a few times when older and a lot as a baby. Well, from what I can remember, I just fell asleep. There was no side effect after I woke.

I've never had anesthesia, so I'm not sure how it affects me. 😛

The first time I was put under was when I had my wisdom teeth removed. I woke up, left the hospital and was on my way to catch a tube/subway home when I started to seize up. I was able to get home but spent the next few days in bed unable to move. We think the most likely explanation is it was an anaesthetic overdose rather than any kind of allergic reaction.

Since then I've been put under multiple times and simply woke up afterwards feeling like I'd had a decent sleep for a change.

I’ve had around eight surgeries, so I have plenty of experience with this. Every time I remember waking up from anesthesia, I would always be crying for absolutely no reason. 🤣🤣
