Code:
Throughout the history of the United States, individuals and groups of reformers worked for change in the U.S. During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s these people united together to bring about these Changes. This time period was called the Progressive era. These reformers (Who were also known as progressives) had many goals to achieve in this time period. Many of these goals were fulfilled.

One of these goals was to end the political corruption in the United State. People in power at this time were corrupt and only wanted for money and power and didn’t care for the welfare of the people. One example of these people was Boss Tweed. He was a very corrupt man and stole a lot of money from the government. People like Boss Tweed were exposed by cartoonist such as tom Nast and Joseph J. Keppler. These Cartoonists showed what was happening by cartoons. It exposed the corrupt people. These cartoons had an advantage then just word in the paper because not only are they more appealing, but the people who couldn’t read knew what they meant. In one of Nast’s Cartoons he pictured Boss Tweed as a vulture feeding on the city. One change that was made because of this was the introduction of the recall, which gave the people to right to remove somebody from office. Many Corrupt officials were removed this way.
Another goal for the Progressives was to provide better living conditions for all. Many Immigrants lived in small dirty crowded rooms called tenements. Another problem with the living conditions was the poor conditions at meat packing industries. Sometimes rats would be put in the food, which is very unsanitary. The products labels also didn’t always have true information. To these problems letters were sent to the government asking for the Pure Food and Drug Act which would fix the problem on the unsanitary food and false labeling. It also made the Manufacturers to have to list all of the ingredients on the label. Photographs taken by people like Jacobs Riis and speeches by Government officials were used to inform the public about the poor living conditions so they could fight for change as well. There were also people like Jane Addams who worked to give poor people an education, supplies they needed and helped them find jobs. She established the hull house to accomplish this and urged other to help.
In the Progressive era there were many wanted reforms for the U.S. Many of these goals were fulfilled such as getting rid of the corrupt people inside the government and to provide better living conditions for all. These Reforms in the Progressive era helped improve life for many of the U.S citizens.

What do you think?

The sentences only need to be 3-5 sentences. Also when i double space it and make it a 14 font size it should be a full page. It a full page just making in 14. I'm lucky i don't need to make the huge 5 page essays yet.

-lol-

Thats what i was going to say... When i used to hand in homework this size i always used to get "When i am getting the rest" comment from the teacher -lol-

It's about 3 pages when i make all the necessary font changes and double space it. I really only need it to be one. It's a practice one, but the info is more important then the size. If i have all these its a 5.

It is about quality not quantity, well most of the time... ~lol~

Isn't that what i was saying. Out teacher was showing us older essays. There was one that was a half a page and New York State gave it a 3. A two page one got a 2. It all matter about the content.
