We've all seen it, those annoying spam filled posts, the random links posted in chatrooms by bots. You may hate the stuff, but just how effective can it really be? We're about to find out. Introducing a project born from a msn chat by Gimgak and myself, Did You Click It?

The Goal: Discover what types of spam marketing is most effective in which environments (such as chatrooms vs forums).

The Method: Create landing pages on identifying subdomains, and create bit.ly links that will redirect people to them. A tracking code will be added to the landing page that will track both the number of visitors, and the referring webpages.

The Results: Will be made public to everyone, this is an open project and we're looking for people to help. If you've ever wanted to spam the crap out of the Internet, and help a research project, now is your chance! We'll be needing people who are willing to make hundreds of spam comments on sites such as Omegle, and forums such as DigitalPoint.

The Catch: None! I paid the $3 for the domain out of pocket, and we're going to trash this domain (won't be any good for linkbacks tbh, may even get blacklisted).

The main site should be up in a few days, and then we'll have to wait for the tracking code to begin working. Until then, feel free to post if you're interested in helping with this. I placed this in this section because it applies to every admin, and this is an open project. If staff feel it doesn't belong here, feel free to move it.

We may also need a few banners and such made for it. If anyone is good with graphics and want to play around, feel free 🙂
