How fast do you ban a suspected spam bot?

I ban them straight away. However, I will let them appeal their ban if they are a real person.

Faster then Bruce Lee can kick 😀 . As soon as I see its a spam bot I use my ban hammer . I don't give any warnings since I hate spam.

I place suspected spam bots on the mod queue. If they post spam to the mod queue, then I ban. 🙂

Right away, most of the time they post a spam message so it's kind of easy to tell.

Usually instantly. However lately I've been getting some which actually post discussion worthy threads and it's actually tempting to keep them around. 😛

I ban them as soon as they post, though some spambots never seem to post on the forums and in some cases it's unclear whether they actually are bots or not.

My forum has had a couple of spammers who started by posting legitimate content, then by posting ads as replies to threads which they created. Not too common, but these kind of spammers (maybe bots, maybe not) are hard to identify.

As soon as they post is my method to this problem, if they post spam on there first post, normally they will get banned straight away.

If they have only spammed and no legitimate content has been posted by them i banthem right away. Although if they have posted content that isnt spam is usually temp ban for a week.

I usually ban them the moment I find them, but if the content looks suspicious enough to might be somewhere between someone new who isn't paying attention, to possible spam bot, then I might take a little bit of time to look through everything first.

I ban spammers almost instantly after they register up to my forums. Lately though, I wait for them to begin posting spam to actually use the almighty ban hammer. 😛

Pretty quickly. They usually post an ad, and it makes no sense at all. They can be a nuisance. I try to ban them whenever I can.
