I'm using chrome and it loaded for me in less than a second on the home page but the others were a little slower, around 2-3 seconds

Usually it can be your host or just too many entities on the pages.

It took around 4 to 5 seconds on Firefox 3 homepage take more time to load then threads and fews days back I was also encountering something like site unavailable when trying to reply to threads but after refreshing one or two time page just load fine, completely forgot to tell you at that time by the way did you switched the host I think you should move to some good one.

On my slow work internet it took about 3.5 seconds from the time i click until the time the page was totally done loading.

It seems very hit and miss currently, which is very frustrating. I have contacted our host to ask if there is a specific issue, and will probably move very soon.

Your forum loads in about a second for me, so much faster. I do warn you that host gator can have some issues with SQL if you have many connections(happened to me).

I wouldn't say HostGator is the best host nor is vBulletin at all considered to be fast.
