Examples or revenue sharing sites are Youtube partner program, ehow.com , Squidoo.com , and hubpages.com .

All revenue sharing sites share a percentage of their earnings with their writers who post articles to their websites.

I'm not too knowledgeable about revenue sharing sites, but they look pretty hard to make profitable since most of the good writers which write articles which search engine users are searching for probably rather work for themselves or bigger revenue sharing sites which been around for years like eHow, or Squidoo with a proven record for paying their writers.

It is definitely going to take time to build up some thing like that with a strong reputation. Most people are not able to do it by themselves, it takes a team of people to really stay on top of it. I'm sure there are a few custom scripts involved as well, which cost quite a bit if you can not do it your self.
