When you're looking for a domain, how important is a .com domain to you? How much more would you pay for a .com domain if you could only get a .net or a .org?

It's the only domain I buy really. I do have a few one word .nets but I am not sure what I'm doing with them yet. Maybe some Amazon affiliate site. But other than that I would not buy a .net.

I've noticed that some domains look good with a .net, but most of the time, whether it's from a referral or from a search engine, people will go to a .com 9 times out of 10.

I wouldn't look back at a .net or .org. Rather I will prefer to change the domain name and get a .com for myself.

Well, I guess a .com is the best option but if you look at FP, a .net still works very well!

But if you look it this way! fp has been there for so long so .net is not an issue but if you are starting fresh it will take twice as long on .net

not that important unless my site is commercial. I use domain TLD's for their actual uses. TLD's don't mean squat price wise. it is a preference for most people. I have heard people say that .net's often are not worth anything and to upgrade to a .com, but the simple fact is, a domain is only worth anything if you make it worth something. That being said most of my domains are .net's and they are all worth alot more than any of my .com's.
