I have been running my forum for 9 months. I do not have a lot of members, but I have a few members who regularly post on the forum.

My longest running forum which started life on vBulletin v1 has been going for nearly 22 years. I think the rest between 10-15 years.

My current forum is only over a month old now. 🙂

Going on almost a year 🙂
58 members so far which is good for a year.

I've had my forum since October 31st of last year (if memory serves me right).

vBulletin is a premium software, right? Are your forum self-sustaining?

Do you earn enough to pay for hosting, or are you running through your own pocket?
Nothing, I do not earn much at all. When I do get something ends up going back int another site. Then again expect nothing for a hobby

You have adsense, right? Do you earn from adsense?

nothing.

I Was over $100 AUD back in 2016 or 2017 and then a VERT big crash happened and google took so much percentage away and BANG, down.

voluntary donation? How do you manage to get donations?
I make a post telling the members how much it costs to run the forum for a year stating any contributions will be welcome. Some years the entire cost has been met by a single member.

I think you need to build a good, long term relationship with your members and ensure that you give consideration to what meets their needs.

How did you manage to build loyal users on your forum?

nothing.

You have really nice forum, you must be getting a lot of search traffic, right?

How did you manage to build loyal users on your forum?
In general by offering something unique such as a forum that catalogues vintage and rare guitars or another one that provides after-sales for a particular service.

Most of the forums I own or manage are not unlike this one in that they are fairly unique in their niche and also foster a good relationship between the staff and members.
