My forum has been running 2 years now.

I've had my forum since October 31st of last year (if memory serves me right).
How long you are expecting to keep it running then?
Do you earn enough to pay for hosting, or are you running through your own pocket?
vBulletin is a premium software, right? Are your forum self-sustaining?
It is a premium product. The majority of forums I've owned have been self-sustaining, usually by voluntary donation.
Nothing, I do not earn much at all. When I do get something ends up going back int another site. Then again expect nothing for a hobby
You have adsense, right? Do you earn from adsense?
nothing.
I Was over $100 AUD back in 2016 or 2017 and then a VERT big crash happened and google took so much percentage away and BANG, down.
I make a post telling the members how much it costs to run the forum for a year stating any contributions will be welcome. Some years the entire cost has been met by a single member.
I think you need to build a good, long term relationship with your members and ensure that you give consideration to what meets their needs.
How did you manage to build loyal users on your forum?
You have really nice forum, you must be getting a lot of search traffic, right?
Not really
In general by offering something unique such as a forum that catalogues vintage and rare guitars or another one that provides after-sales for a particular service.
Most of the forums I own or manage are not unlike this one in that they are fairly unique in their niche and also foster a good relationship between the staff and members.
