How many board warnings until a user gets banned?

Currently, on my forum I have set it to three official board warnings and then the user get’s automatically banned for some time.

Depends on the severity of the warnings. I tend not to use the built in warning systems on forum software as I don't like how they are managed. I will write some notes on the user and require other staff do the same for each warning they received, if they escalate and no longer hold a positive contribution to the community they will be banned.

I agree. I do something similar. It depends on what the warnings are for too. If someone gets multiple warnings for the same thing, they are more likely to be banned than someone who received warnings for different things. I do try to be lenient sometimes but somethings a ban is necessary.
