I guess it is all about being able to handle multiple forums. Once they can be able to do that, I see no issues at all.

The only forum I own is a Jcink resource board. I owned a couple of boards at once, but I've mainly operated one forum at a time.

I’ve done it before, but I ended up merging them together.

It is not easier running multiple forums. I’d rather focus on one forum and make it the best that it can be.

I haven't owned one in a long time and don't really miss it. There is a lot of work involved in opening up a forum way back when I did own one and these days that workload has only increased at least in my opinion.
