How many forums have you had?

I'm sure some of us have owned or ran more than one forum in our internet lives. For myself, it had been five in the past and they were the following:
  • EXE Community (2004, an instant failure)
  • X Community (2004-05. Had been rebranded as DX Community in early 2005)
  • RX Community (2008-12. Most successful I ever had, and we were a great bunch. I still miss it to this day)
  • The Hideout (2015. Was initially a private forum hence the name)
  • The Lightweb (2017-18)
Now I have mindsConnected where I hope will stay with me for years to come.

I’ve had far too many forums to count. I’ve done a little bit of everything. I’ve had a sports forum, a webmaster forum, a promotion forum, a graphic design forum, a gaming forum, a homework help forum, a forum for students, etc.

In the beginning, I had 5 to 8 websites. Most of them were failures because you'd have to market them. Subdomains weren't working as I initially thought. I always knew that top level domains (TLD's) are marketable. So, in 2010, I bought CODForums, and started to buy new websites. Since then, I've bought hundreds of domains with at least 5 to 6 websites launched at the same time.

Some of them were failures, but I've always been quick to swap ideas. For example, last year, I dropped BF1Forum in exchange for DMCForums.com as a test. Then I dropped StartupsForum.net for BF5Forum.com. Then Battlefront-Forum.com for BlackOps4Forums.com.

I love video games, and it's a subject that I have domain expertise for a very long time.

Which of these did you like working with the most, and which of them had been more successful for you?

Although I had little RP forums prior, my real forums went:
  • A Mars Volta Fan-forum I forgot the name of (2006)
  • The(This?) City On Fire - a general chat/meme board (2008-2009)
  • Zed Ros - a general chat forum (2009-ish)
  • AXU Forums - another general chat forum, my first self-hosted board (2009)
  • BoomBox? I remember a music forum but I cant remember what it was called (2010)
  • Eyeon Studio - a coding and design forum (2010)
  • Cyanide Design (Cyanidesign) - a design/code forum (2010)
  • Minecraft Nation Server Forums (2012)
Probably more but that was so long ago haha.

Just the one, Used to be two but I let it closed and still closed.

probably if you calculated it it'd come to 3229 and i'm not exaggerating lol

most of them were absolute garbage except the ones in 2016 and my current one tho

was mainly running for friends, though, who eventually ditched them for discord. ugh

the new one I have will probably last if i bother to give it time tho

About three myself, one was a decent success for awhile though and I enjoyed my time there. All of them came with some learning though, which is always useful!

I had the same forum around three times. When I first started, I started on pro-boards and I didn't really like it so I remade my forum like three times on myBB then eventually I lost my computer, etc, then lost my website due to not paying for the domain and stuff, so I don't currently own one.

Just one for me: Poliwager Forums. A Pokémon fan community based around my site, Poliwager, which has had a few different focuses over the years, but the main focus is having fun with Pokémon fans. 😛

1) Christian downloads forum
2) Generalchat forum
3) Few more which i can't remember.
4) Indian forum

I've had a lot of forums over the years. I miss them. Wish I still had them, or at least one.

I've had and been apart of many forums in the last 5 years. My favorite niches are gaming, general or anything tech 🙂 So i've been on those types the most.

I've had way too many to count over the years. I'm back working on a forum project now as we speak.. It'll probably be the last major one. I feel like I'm getting too old and I'm too tired to run them on my own.

I had many years ago in some free forum hosting. Right now, I am in a project of one but finally with some budget to spend. 🙂

If I can remember off the top of my head, maybe 3 or 4. They never really anywhere so I just shut them down 🙁

Just 2. One was a tech/entertainment geared forum and the other was a promotion forum.
