How many languages do you know?

which can't be, since Africa is way older than Germany & even Europe.

Well, I was born in Russia but moved to Great Britain; England. So I know both English & Russian very, very well. 🙂

English mainly then French, Spanish and Polish and Finally Russian and Italian 🙂 Not fluent in the last two.

Learning a Language

So, I know we have a few bi-lingual people here (Naiwen being one), and I'm curious. If you know multiple languages, what languages do you know? Why did you choose this language? How did you learn a second language?

I'm currently learning mandarin using Rosetta Stone. I've always wanted to learn a second language and Mandarin has been interesting so I decided to go for it.

Re: Learning a Language

I speak English and Spanish. My Spanish isn't anywhere near perfect, but I can speak it decently. I chose to learn Spanish because it will probably be as widely spoken as English in the USA within my lifetime.

That doesn't necessarily mean that the language itself is as old than the continent itself. 🙂 Considering the Dutch influence in Africa, it is very plausible that a new language was formed and derived from Dutch. 🙂

Re: Learning a Language

Mandarin is arguably the hardest language to learn asides from English, I know English and Russian because I was first raised to speak English then because of the fact that I'm Russian I decided to learn it, I mainly taught myself. 🙂

phio is on a merging role. 😉

Anyone here know Swedish? :O
