When I first created AF I was new to the whole Forum Promotion niche and got roped in to the whole exchange thing, I did quite a few post exchanges but soon realized that building a community based on exchanges was actually hurting my forum. Since then I request a package every few months on FP for the added discussion, I don't do post exchanges at all.
I would say around 1,000 posts of 158,432 are from exchanges or people who have been paid to post.
Quite a few unfortunately. Kind of hoping to cut down on this though. May end up requesting on the 22nd of this month, but aside from that I'd really like to move on to more natural promotion.
I did some for the English part, I am more looking forward a some sort of repeatable exchanges, for example a 10/10 that we can repeat once per month or something so we can actually consider each other members.
That aside, I keep forgetting the exist, hahah.
I just don't like doing small post exchange for no return, I rather a 20-50 kind of exchanges as at least the member contributed something, I don't like hurried posts, it is kind of hard to decide with who to make exchanges these days, many people just want to jump to the next deal and don't take time to enjoy the community. 🙁
I only did exchanges for the first few months my forum was up, and were mostly little 5/5's ... Some members i liked, I did an activity for activity exchange cause they were great members and posters. But, once i got a good ranking on google buying backlinks, Google's done all the work and got me actual legit members that wanted to be on my forum.
Out of 270,000 posts, I'd probably say about 400 are from actual post exchanges.
