How many rings before you answer the phone?

My phone announces who is calling. If it's someone I want to talk to, I answer by the third ring. All other calls go to voicemail.

As soon as I can if I know who it is, otherwise Caller ID screens & they get the answering machine. This is also a landline; we don’t do cells.
What about you?

Answering machine? I forgot those existed. I haven’t had a landline with an answering machine in like 20 years. Only had a cell phone since then.

I don’t answer most phone calls at all. If you’re saved in my phone and I know who you are, then yeah I’ll answer if I feel like it. Don’t count rings, just whenever I can get to the phone.

I won't answer unless I know who it is or if I'm expecting a call lol. Otherwise I'll let it ring and they can leave a voicemail.

The phone is on silent. When I happen to walk past it, I'll pick it up to see if I have any missed calls or messages.

I answer my phone immediately 99% of the time, so I’d say it’s as few rings as possible. I’m on the phone for work stuff all the time.

Most of the time my phone is good enough that it tells me if its potential spam,
But to be honest, I don't get enough calls to know if I pick up on a certain ring xD

I must confess something. It's really bad. Sometimes when it's family, I will wait on the 5th ring to answer lol.

I get so many spam calls that I only answer when I recognize the number.

Work calls - I try to pick it up within 1-2 rings max. Sometimes I can't get to it that fast if I am busy.
Personal calls - This honestly just depends if I am by my phone, and if it's an actual person or spam call.

I typically pick my phone at the first ring. The only thing that might cause me to delay picking up my calls is if I am trying to figure out who the caller might be.

If it's someone I don't know, I'm not answering. I do really like my kim possible ringtone, though, so sometimes I'll let it ring a few times even if it's someone I know. 🤣

I screen calls. So I’d they aren’t in my phone it goes straight to vm the first time they call. If they call repeatedly, I may or may not answer the phone. The only people I answer immediately for are the people in my immediate household.

Like @Teg if they aren't in my contacts then VM they go. So, anyone that isn't my wife or kid's goes to VM.

It depends on how far away I am from my phone. If I have it stuffed in my back pocket, I usually answer it pretty quickly. If it's laying on the charger at home and I'm in the other room, then it might take me several rings to get to my phone before I answer it.

Depends on the caller. If it's a number I have saved, I'm more likely to pick it up at some point while it's ringing. Sometimes it's the first, other times it's after three or four, depends on what I'm doing and who it is. If it's a work related call, I try to put it off if I'm off because I just don't want to deal with work when I'm off (I deal with enough when I'm there lol, I'd love to have my time off be my time off). If it's my mom, I'll usually answer it as quickly as I can unless I'm out somewhere and it's too loud wherever I'm at. In those cases though, I'll just send her to voicemail and send her a quick text because usually, I know why she's calling lol.

Unrecognized numbers always go straight to voicemail (or it'll just ring till it goes to voicemail if I'm not able to get to my phone/I'm not near it). Call screening is an option I have, but my phone also tells me if it's spam, so I just send them straight to voicemail if I'm able to. I feel like if it's truly important, then they'll leave me a voicemail, and I can determine from there if it's worth calling them back or not. Only time I won't immediately send them to voicemail is if I'm expecting a call from someone, but it usually won't be an immediate pick up either.

I always take my calls immediately I get to notice that I have a call and that is regardless of if it is a number that I know or not. I don't ignore calls for it to ring continuously for any reason, except I am busy.
