How much can a forum earn?

This is a question to the forum owners here. How much does your forum earn in a month? Obviously, no one would give a figure. But perhaps you can give us an idea if it is profitable, a little profitable or not profitable at all vis-a-vis the expenses involved in running your forum. I’m asking this because I had recently encountered several new forums that I think were created for the money. Any honest reply?

Honestly, ours makes nothing. It would be nice to actually have it pay for itself at some point. At the moment, we're in the green because of a massive influx of community donations from over a year ago when we were setting the site up.

My forum is brand new so at the moment it is not making any money. I don't care if the forum makes money or not. I am doing it as a hobby and for fun.

Depends on how huge your website is.

I know of sites that make around 500$ to 1500% a month.

You need to think out side the box and not what your doing now. Look around google for blogs that allows posting and is related to your niche, also go to other forums that allow you to advertise. You gotta put the effort in to see results, posting on one or two forums wont help you out a lot you need to think bigger and once again think out side the box.

well, when I started off I got nothing at all 🙁 But as time goes on you do start to get something 🙂 Each month is different and so it's up and down.

I know it depends on how huge your forum is, but I think with ads, niche,... there're many ways to get income from forum.

The amount of earning would correspond to the amount of traffic - assuming you're not sending them to something fraudulent. 🙄 But of course, you also have to consider the niche. For instance, traffic to a gaming site is pretty easy to come by - and the earnings aren't so much (as you'd expect).
