Hello,
I am going through a bad fraise in life and hoping for some replies I don't know why my keep loosing home boradband but that's my life..

Anyway to the point

I only got 5GB monthly on a usb dongle is this enough to run a site or anything or heavy internet browsing?

How much do you use monthly?

So much in my life is going on right now and Australian ISP will never be easy and offer unlimited or big plans for 3/4G Networks

I have an unlimited package so I am unsure how much I use. It is pretty cheap too but the speed isn't great. I use it to watch videos, surf the web and play games and I am sure it uses quite a lot so I guess, I would use 10GB+ although I never kept track of my usage.

Why don't you use Wi-fi?

You most probably would use 10GB since you tube consumes a lot of data alone.

I do use WiFi but long sotry but currently looking for a new house and moving so i'm stuck with a USB dongle for around 2 months maybe 3 maximum.

I could upgrade to 25GB but that's an extra $140 a month and not sure if I can afford that.

Just do not download much.

I have 250GB and montly my house uses just about 97GB, but I watch youtube a lot and do some heavy internet browsing. I think it could be pushing it by running a site, depending on what you download that is.

I Watch YouTube a lot also but have to slow down for the next couple of months.

And I won't might get a 1GB pre-paid sim for downloading a lone just small files and TV Shows.

How Would I Last on 16GB or 25GB Plan? it's expensive being 3/4G but possible to upgrade to.

i'm the only one using it 🙂

and Sounds Great I use about 50GB with unlimited internet so it's a pain to how much I have to slow down on.

If you don't watch YouTube, it generally isn't so bad. Both my United States and Canadian plans have a 5GB soft limit whereby if you go over, you get bumped down to 2G speeds for the rest of the month.

If I browse all day without videos, I often just end up using <100MB/day.

That isn't too bad if I browsed all day I probably use 500MB a day but my laptop seems to use things in the background and no app too turn background services off XD

and you only get bumped down that's awesome in Australia it's unlimited but you get charged excess so there money makers they don't care about there customers here.

I think you should be fine with 16GB. Just be sure not to download much, 1000MB = 1GB.

Yeah upgrading my plan now might be in debt for a while since my budget is low but I be alight 😉

I have unlimited also but I think if I didn't I would need alot. I am always on the internet, everything I do is on the internet basically. If I didn't have unlimited we'd be in trouble. 😛

Bandwidth usage depends on the monthly usage. I am using a 3G and 4G both with 100GB monthly bandwidth. Its always good to have a good internet plan to surf without issues.

i'm upgrading now for an extra $55 AUD for 16GB 😉

and the most an Australian ISP will offer over 3/4G is 25GB it's alright but not good for heavy usuage

Don't know how much I need or use. I wish I had Google Fiber and had Gigabyte Download / Upload Speed.

Currently my download speed is 1 Mbps and upload is 700 kbps. I was plenty of youtube and download games when I get new ones anyway. This month though (due to the steam sale) I have probably easily downloaded at least 400GB worth of data. May reach more than 600GB if I am lucky by the end. 😛

Same

and Australian ISP have a right to comment saying I shouldn't be going over 500GB.

i'm only watching you tube and browsing so ive slowed down untill I get unlimited internet back.

Let's see, I've basically been idle for the whole week my computer has been up, so I only have 25GB down and 1.5GB up. If I were to actually download something, like movies, I'd easily eat up that in less than a day.

I'm usually able to get by with just 3GB or less per month on my mobile phone. The most activity that I do that requires internet is listen to music (via Spotify). I usually hop on the wifi when I am home so I'm not entirely sure the real measurement of the internet data I use. I would recommend waiting until you're in a wifi area before you do any streaming to conserve data usage. I'm not sure what it's like there in Australia but here in CA, USA there are many shops (coffee shops and restaurants) that offer free wifi and I am also able to use the library's wifi.

How do you manage to do that :/

My new unlimited WiFi speed is the same and it lags on the xbox one and its taken 3 hours just to download one movie where on fibre it only took an hour not even that

Can't wait untill they roll fibre out here apparently there almost finished progress 😛

So i got wi fi now but its not the best can't even watch netflix on so ADSL does suck

When I got my new PC built I had to redownload everything to my 1TB HDD. Took only like a 2 weeks to go from 1TB down to 300GB left on my HDD.

I have a 1GB data add on that lasts forever. It took me just under a year to use it all last time.

Data plans are expensive here. 🙁
