How much money to charge for banner ads?

Is there a perfect amount to charge for banner or text ads on a forum? How much would you charge for a signature line on your own forum?

It would completely depend on the niche of the forum, traffic stats, where the traffic comes froms, (Countries etc) and if there is a good ctr or not.

I try to remain significantly cheaper than my competition. That is my way of doing it. And I still make enough to let the forum pay for itself and give me some pocket profit as well 😉
