How much Web Space does your forum take?

I have test boards and other stuff in there though.

I think the question is how much you are currently using, not how much you are allowed to use. 😛

It doesn't take up much. You could run a forum with 100mb if you want although the more space you have the better it is. As your forum gets bigger you will need more. FP uses about 700mb and that is including 4 forums and other stuff we have stored.

Yes because Dillon wants to know how much space a normal forum takes up so it gives him an idea how much space he would need for a forum.

My disk space is 3000 MB and with two forums in the server it's... 410.62/3000 MB so not much at all. 😀 I should actually downgrade so I don't have to post as many threads for the points but eh.

If its essential, for a forum that has barely any thing on it, default template, and two empty forums, it will require 50.23 MB. 🙂 Hope you know where to start now 🙂

I forget how much I'm using, not anywhere near my allocated 50GB though (I didn't worry about storage much, just bandwidth, I can use image hosts and other free hosts if I really have to..)

Question though, I thought about an image gallery but that could add up rather fast.... I'd love to have one were you could link offsite images and have them displayed, like what is commonly done with avatars and images included in posts.

If you have 50gb, even an image gallery won't use that up fast unless you have a MASSIVE forum.

Thanks, I wasn't sure exactly at what point it would be a problem.

Now I just have to find a gallery mod for MyBB, last I checked.... there wasn't one.

The only time you should upgrade from a basic package is when you exceed the bandwidth limit of that package. At that stage you will probably be raking in enough ad revenue to upgrade anyway.

If you are running out of space, just impose stricter limits on PM inbox sizes, attachment sizes etc.

Im using just over 70.00 MB, which is 2 phpBB forums and 1 other forum software.

Currently, I'm using only 120MB of space with my main forum, test forum and a blog I'm building.
