How much your forum is worth

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I can value a site at 2$ while another may value it at 200$, it's a person to person thing.

It's mostly opinionated, although some factors that affect a forum's value are:

-Traffic
-Revenue & age
-PageRank/Alexa Rank/Backlinks

I wouldn't really trust sites where you can get a quote for how much your forum is worth. I know one time someone posted a topic about this with a link to such a site, and I just checked out my forum for giggles, but I remember what I got it didn't seem to be very accurate, as my forum wasn't that old when I looked it up. The site in question added my forum's worth up to thousands or hundred thousands or something like that, and I knew that didn't make sense as we were a new board and there wasn't that much on it at all. I don't even know/understand what sites like that look for when they calculate how much you could get for your forum if you actually wanted to sell it. I can imagine any forum being hundred thousands some if it was more than a year old, but when I looked my site up it wasn't even a month old yet, so I knew the price did seem to be a bit much.

What a forum is worth calculated by stats, tools or whatever they have online never is right. If you build a genuine community and they interact with the staff and support the forum, like FP, then you can get way more than some tool because the members know something stats can't show and that is the value in the community and the group of people you are buying.

Its really down to the traffic you recieve, members, posts daily etc. It also boils down to how much someone is willing to pay for it
