I get a notification from my phone whenever I get an email, so I don't know if I would say I check my email since I can just read a new email I get as soon as I see the notification for it. The only thing I really check is my spam folder but that's pretty rare since I'll only tend to check it when I'm expecting an email and I don't get it, and look to see if it went in the spam folder instead.
I check mine at least once a day. I still need to go through and actually delete a bunch of emails, I have thousands of unread emails. I have emails from over a decade ago still in my inboxes. :V
Checking my emails is a daily process. I ensure that it is something that I do everyday because I wouldn't want to be in a position where I get to miss an important email as a result of procrastinating the need to check for incoming mails.
I get email notifications on my phone, so I usually just use that to check my email daily. Most of it is just advertising stuff from sites I've bought stuff before, so I mostly just ignore it. If I know I'm expecting an email or I'm looking for a deal of some sort, I'll be a little more thorough in checking it, but otherwise, it's just a casual glance when I wake up in the morning and throughout the day when I look at my phone.
I check my email every day because it is where my employer sends the tasks. In addition, I am subscribed to a couple of freelancing gurus who give free advice frequently.
I normally check my email after every 3-5 hours, because so many things I have there to receive. Like some job interview or online work assignment or payment information.
My email client is set with push notifications. That means I am notified on the notification bar every time I have a mail. I check my mail as much as I am notified of a new mail and that could be three times a day.
