I only reboot my router if the internet is acting up. Lately our service hasn't been too bad though, it tends to go out during the late hours since I see people complaining about the service in my neighborhood's Facebook group.
When I lived at my old house, I was constantly having to reboot it. The technicians told me that I was in a really bad area and that there was a lot of interference. I wasn't the only one filing a complaint. They had Fidelity techs coming in and out of the neighborhood where I lived trying to figure it out. My Internet experience vastly improved once we moved. Presently, I've rarely had to reset it since we got into our new home.
It tends to only reboot my router if we start having any issues with the internet but I do feel that I would be better off rebooting it once a week when I remember so that I knew everything was fresh and I wouldn't have any issues for that week.
Either once a month or like everyone else, when it starts acting up, which in itself is a rare occasion. I play a lot of online games so it is quite noticeable when it does. haha
I don't recall power cycling or software rebooting my router ever except for firmware updates. I run a support forum for a niche ISP and it's fair to say they supply me with a consistently good connection.
There's no real reason why you shouldn't reboot especially if you are experiencing connection issues but I tend to adhere to the adage if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
We only reboot our router when the internet is acting up. Haven’t had issues lately, so it’s been a while. I suppose the power going out during bad weather counts? That’s happened a few times.
When the connections get slow or when the internet gets interrupted and does not come back for a long time I reboot the router but that does not happen too frequently.
Before I swapped ISPs, I was having to reboot at least three times a week. Since the switch, I think I’ve only did it once but it was because the power went out due to a storm and it didn’t come back online. 😅
I hardly touch our modem. Our modem is a mobile one that connects to a SIM card as we can't get a decent signal from the household modem in my parents house so have to have our own in our caravan.
Never really have to reboot the router as everything runs pretty smoothly. Only times were during a power outage or when messing around with adding a new power outlet on the circuit.
