When I was doing interviews at the company I used to work for, one thing that a lot of people claimed was that they were proficient in Excel. What does that mean to you? Intermediate? Advanced? What I actually found out was that they knew the basics.

How proficient are you? I think I'm intermediate and know more than the beginners.

I can do some formulas and pivot tables/graphs. Not much complicated statistics. I use it also to generate repetitive SQLs.

Probably beginner, honestly. I took a class that focused exclusively on Microsoft Office & its programs back when I was in college, and I honestly don't remember any of it. I can input data and do little basic things, but that's about it. Just last week, I learned that I can highlight all the numbers in a column that I want to add up, and it'll show me the sum of them in the bottom right corner lol.

In school, a lot of our IT lessons were based on excel and because of that, I learned a lot that I am still able to use to this day.

I would say that I am intermediate as I know enough to not be classed as a beginner but I also know there is probably so much more I could learn.

I am not as active here as some people, but I think it was because I learned it very young. I remember learning and playing with excel in the 3rd grade. Learning most of the advanced functions came from just experimenting and googling answers when I got stuck.

With Excel, the only thing I know is just to type information that I am instructed to. I can't set formulas on the spreadsheet to save my life.
