How to cancel my web hosting service?

I had gone through this some time ago. Has anyone here tried cancelling a web hosting plan before? To be honest, it's not as simple as “just click cancel.” Some hosts will just frustrate you till you give up and make up your mind to continue your hosting plan with them. If you’ve cancelled before, how did you do it without losing your domain or files?

Most reputable hosts allow you to cancel your hosting with a ticket.

I do not know about other web hosts but on namecheap you can just click cancle service to cancel your hosting service. If you have prepaid, you can even get refund for the remaining period.
