Are these domains ours permanently or just for like a year or something?
I didn't see that specified on either this page or the first page. Didn't the ones in between but am assuming it's permanent, right?
If so, I'm gonna go post crazy! In fact, even if it's not permanent, still gonna go post crazy!
Maybe I can pester those guys who harp about the domain name into giving me some donations since it bothers them so much. :lol: :lol:

The domain registration is for 1 year only, still a good deal considering that it cost's $10 to purchase a 1 year .com/.net/.org domain.

Just curious. Say I didn't renew the domain name though, would my website stop working or would it just go back to the domain it had before I got my own domain? If it's the first one, that could be a slight problem.
Also, how much would a permanent domain name cost? One that never expires? Does such a thing even exist? I mean, like theforce.net or aol.com, etc? Jedi Penguin if you avail of this offer you can have your domain name pushed to your own NameCheap account. Then you can decide for yourself whether you want to renew it or not at the end of the year.

If I take the offer but, I don't have a NameCheap account right now by the way, if I don't have enough FP to buy another one or whatever other reason, then will my website stop working? That's what I'm wondering.

If you do not pay the renewal fee's on your domain at the end of the year your website will not stop working, your domain will expire and that will not work.

Which means what exactly? IF the domain stops working, won't the web address be useless and the site be inaccessible at the very least? That's what I've been wondering.
Also, I just got a thread closed. Apparently I don't know what they mean by "bumping" a thread.
Does that mean I'm only supposed to be posting once every 48 hours or what does it mean? I thought it was legal and the rules never said what you meant by "bumping".

If you get a domain and use it on your current forum you will be able access your forum using the address it is using right now. If your top level domain name (ex: yoursite.com) expires you will no longer be able to use that domain to access your site but the old one will continue to work.
You cannot create 2 threads about one site, you can bump your thread every 24 hours which means you can post an update or whatever every 24 hours unless you get a reply then you can comment on that reply.

I many times had a deal in which Ace bought me a custom domain from namecheap and transferred it to my account immediately! i dont think there is any such 2 months restriction on namecheap

electroman it does seem as if you can sometimes transfer domains to other NameCheap accounts before the 60 days are up. However it is against their rules - have a look at "Transfer Rules" No. 1 towards the bottom of this page http://www.namecheap.com/domains/transfer-a-domain.aspxelectroman said:

I think that rule is for transferring domain to other website for example, namecheap to godaddy. They prohibit that. But they don't prohibit transferring from namecheap to namecheap!

Yes, I think it is. I just contacted their support to make sure and they said that is only for transferring it from a different domain registrar. They said that you could buy the domain and push it to another name cheap account the next day.

Thanks everyone. This offer has always been intended for members who want to get domain names and build sites on them. In other words it was never intended for people who wanted to get a free domain name and then sell it on or who wanted to make money from parking a domain name. I feel that the two month waiting period before the transfer is completed helps to ensure that the offer is utilised by those who want to develop sites on their domains, rather than those who are looking for a quick sale.

that's ok but still, i would feel better if ihad the full controll over my domain and make sure no one is able to steal it or something if it gets really big! I won't sell the domain though!
