Renewing is totally up to you. FP only handles buying the domain for the first time, and than FP is done with it. Whoever FP bought the domain for must find a way to renew it by the time it expires.

Yes it will, exactly 1 year after it is purchased it will expire. But you will have to renew it for about $10 via the domain registar if you wish you still want to use the domain.

eg. you purchase the domain today, the domain will expire december 25, 2011

Because the admins have to pay for the domain. You don't pay for the account. Accounts are free.

Yes, its free. You need to get 6000FP$ to get it for a year and then you will need to pay to renew it. Read the first post for more information. 🙂

I don't see what you don't understand. If you transfer the domain, you don't need to pay for the nameserver changes. If you don't transfer it away then you have to pay for them.
