There is not such thing as a free domain. Someone had to pay for it in the first place.
Domains will last for as long as you pay for them. The maximum is 10 years on NameCheap, and that would cost about $80 over the 10 years.

Well, you could look around, but eventually, it will expire. FP offers domains for 9000FP$ (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=50249) and you don't pay real money, just virtual money, but in the end, to renew it, you will have to pay for it.

The main thing is that if you want a "free" domain, you'll do so much that it isn't worth it at all. However, these guys have a free domain special going on right now.
