How to get Facebook likes?

Alright so I've figured the Twitter thing out. I have 16k + followers and it's really my only source of traffic. Sometimes I will get over 100 new followers in a day but I'm at only 4 Facebook likes. How do I change this?

I could ask my Twitter followers to like the page but I'm trying to avoid spamming them.
 
If you don't mind spending money. You can use the Facebook paid advertising to get people to like your Facebook page. I have done that and it definitely works but the only question is, are you willing to spend money for the Facebook paid advertising? Facebook does a great job of getting people to like your Facebook page.

Yes, Facebook is very hard to promote without advertising. Facebook pages are generally designed to attract your already existing member base. There is no solid search to find pages you like (it is pretty much just a name search vs a content search) and sharing only goes so far due to privacy settings and such.

Aside from paying for adverting, you can always try tossing your page into discussing on similar pages with larger crowds, but I can't really say if it works or not. I do see it often, so I would think there is some merit behind it.
 
Initially friends and family helped mine out big time, asking them to share it to get the ball rolling. But I only just recently discovered this but you can invite people to like your page if they have liked one of your posts etc

Now I would boost a post and target people through paid who don't like my page and then invite them when the post likes come in, can help bump up your numbers quickly, especially if you have a viral post that people are sharing.
 
Maybe they are not using facebook - I think if you want to get like from Facebook you need to building your source traffic facebook as you have did in Twitter. The best way is Facebook Ads - fast and have to invest.
 
Memes. People love memes, almost all my facebook friends share a meme at one point, half of them on a daily ~ weekly basis. Those generate more views, shares and likes which eventually leads to people clicking the original profile/page that submitted it and showing interest in it.

If they like your content enough they'll start following to get updates on your new submissions, assuming you're active enough.
 
I've found the best way is to ask friends who have a lot of friends who already share and like facebook content to help you out a bit, usually its not too hard and even people that dont want to help you a whole like still give you a few shares
 
Lemme tell ya...This FB stuff was a good deal/idea that launched. The guy went IPO and tanked but make a comeback due to market manipulation.

His marketshare at this time is fluctuating globally. He has a decline in his share market to 40% in US and even EU areas on the decline, but is on the uptick in these Middle Eastern areas.

Why? Western Pop-Gen culture gets bored fast. Middle East is Middle Easy as they get more tech choices and move slowly ahead........disregarding Asia that has the fastest market speeds compared to the world on the super cheap and the user group marketed so fast it will make your head spin. They may not make Tv's but hey are monster net heads.

Twitter is next to follow. That platform is going to die in just the same pattern.

I see FB a twitter gfx on many sites but I see low membership. It must not be working.
 
Make a site because you like to enjoy it as a hobby. If you make money off an idea then bless you.

So much truth to your post. A lot of people are too hung up on desiring the utmost success with their forums. A lot of work and a lot of patience can go a long way.
 
There are sites where you can like other peoples facebook page to get points to get them to like your page. I use a site called traffup and it works for me getting traffic to my forum. I'm sure it would help with you getting facebook likes.
 
I get Facebook page likes from inviting friends and posting interesting articles about my interest, which is birds.
