How to improve my forum look?

Hi okay so i'm not the 'best' at designing my forum.
I would like to know what I could do to make it look graphically better.

Make all the menu names the same size (not a few bold and others normal example : Groups|Donate
And it looks a bit like a lot of things were just glued to the portal on random places try making it look a bit more organized
If i had learned in time and i dint need to retake two exams tomorrow i would gladly help you but for now i need to learn sorry

A couple of quick things you could do.

Change "Advertise Us" in the nav bar, to just "Advertise"

Are you making any money from the scrolling text ad and the iLivid banner ads in the site header? If your not earning from them, I'd suggest removing them. Your forum will look better without them.

Take out the marquee text. It really is kind of an outdated thing, unless it's for affiliates

Otherwise there's a white 1px border on the titles, it's probably misplaced but I have a feeling it shouldn't be there
