Things you'll need:
- Mozilla Firefox 4 and Lower
- Patience
Experience Level:
- Beginner
Step 1: In the address bar, type the following: about:config -> When prompted, press "I'll be careful, I promise!"
Step 2: In the Filter field, type in "network.http.pipelining" (Without the quotes). Double clicking on the entry will change the field. So if it's true, double click the entry to change it to False.
Make your entries look like this:
network.http.pipelining => true
network.http.proxy.pipelining => true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests => 12
content.notify.backoffcount => 5
plugin.expose_full_path => true
ui.submenuDelay => 0
network.dns.disableIPv6 => true
javascript.options.jit.chrome => true
javascript.options.jit.content => true
NOTE: If any of the above value doesn’t appear, then follow the steps below.
For a setting with true or false value. For eg, if you don’t see the value being displayed below while typing content.notify.backoffcount on the filter field just right click on an empty space and select Boolean from New. Type content.notify.ontimer in the box and set its value to true.
And there ya have it, you have just sped up your Firefox! Please note, this tweak can only be done on Firefox only. So, this cant be done on Chrome, Internet Explorer or Safari.
I hope this little tweak has helped you with your experience with Firefox! As always,
