I would really like to know this, cause I have not a clue. I know it will take some money I just have know clue how to / where to go to get started.

I saw a video where a woman talk about subscribing to reseller hosting plan like HostGator reseller plan : http://www.hostgator.com/resellers where you can resell the hosting which you are subscribing to from Host Gator.

Host Gator reselling program comes with free billing, and client management software, and other free services which come with it.

If you need advice or support along the way, I am able to provide you with any information you may need to get started with reselling webhosting!

First off, you will need to learn the basics of cPanel and WHM. A good resource would be https://documentation.cpanel.net/displa ... ledge+Base

Also, you may search google for other guides related to cPanel and WHM.

You may also be able to pick up a cheap reseller account from one of the reputable WebHosts that have been advertised here at FP. (USHost247, HolderHost, PremiereHost, etc)

The only reason why I wouldn't pick a HostGator reseller account is because they don't allow overselling. You may think that's a good thing but it will reduce your profits significantly for no benefit to your clients...

Cheers Chris for the mention. 🙂

I wouldn't advise starting your own hosting company. The market is just too bloated because you have to compete with millions of them to just get clients.

Competition is there in every field you work into. You just need to check your interest and will to dedicate your full hours for your business. Reseller hosting is the latest concept in the sphere of online marketing and it will help you to start your own web hosting business.

I think if you have a lot of online friends, regular friends and family members who plan on starting a website, and tens of thousands to millions of followers on varies social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Plus starting a web hosting company can be profitable since you know people who may want to buy your hosting.

You can offer free website templates, web design help, marketing help, and eBooks on being a webmaster to your customers in exchange for buying a web hosting plan.

But the amount of competition does make a difference. For example, starting a general gaming forum won't attract people these days, but if you make a forum for a new game, people who plan on playing the game will follow your forum.

Reseller hosting is not new. Its been there for a long time and almost saturated.
There is always space for new hosting business to flourish. A good example will be Digital Ocean, but to build something like that, you would need sound technical staff, investors, marketers, etc.

Once you get reseller hosting at Hostgator for example, target small business owners near your area and convince them to build a website. That is one of the good ways to start.

There are literally millions of websites created every week around the world, not to mention there is a large percentage of online users who have never had a website before. This market has plenty space for new businesses/companies to start. I know this because I have bought a few servers myself and while it can be very time consuming, its worth it.

You must learn cPanel, WHM, how to look after a server and especially know how to deal with customers. Not only that, but you must have a bit of money behind you because regardless of what anyone says, even a reseller has to put money into it.

Regards.

I have read all these ideas here but I do not understand. So we have 2 types: reseller and run hosting service right?

To set up a host, you have to install a bunch of software on a server, and it can take a lot of technical knowledge. A reseller is when a host does all the hard work for you, and also manages the web server, and provides you with a limited ability to create accounts, etc. It's a lot easier than setting things up yourself, and cheaper too, but allows for less customizability and scalability.
