This is a really excellent point and something a lot of bloggers miss out on. I always find that the comments I enjoy most, are the comments made by people who actually spent the time to read the article before commenting. If someone read it, then I don't mind too much with the person doing some shameless plug to their website, so long as it isn't overboard, or detracting to what is posted.
